Modern condensing boilers are the most efficient, with an average seasonal efficiency of 85%. You could cut your heating bill by 30% They are more expensive than other types of boilers, but you should get your investment back in just a few years. The next best is a high-efficiency, fan assisted boiler, which runs at 72% average seasonal efficiency. Both types are available as conventional or combination types. Cost : £300 over the cost of a normal boiler Saving : £100 - £120 per year Cost Recovered: 2-3 years Along with saving money, modern boilers do not adversely affect the environment like out-dated models, as they use less energy. |
